About Tammy Tai
Tammy Tai is the founder and principal of Tai Consulting, a multi-service boutique practice, providing innovative solutions for the nonprofit, philanthropic, and public sectors grounded in the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Services include: strategic planning, individual and group coaching, and facilitation. Tai brings over twenty-five years of experience in the nonprofit sector, primarily in the areas of youth leadership development and mentoring, racial equity, and organizational development. She began her career as an elementary bilingual Spanish teacher in Phoenix, AZ and has served in progressive management roles, including as vice president and chief mission officer at MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership and deputy director of Embrace Boston. Tai has served on several nonprofit boards and is a foster parent with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. She is a Professional Certified Coach and earned a BA in sociology from Harvard University and an MBA from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Along with her spouse, an executive and founder of several nonprofit organizations supporting young activists around the globe, she is the parent to three young adults and godparent to many others; they live in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.
