Strategic Planning
Strategic planning is a process for setting the direction of a group or organization that sets priorities, focuses energy and resources, and creates shared agreement around a set of outcomes. While the process results in a plan, the activities that move towards the creation of that plan require equal attention. Tammy facilitates a five phase process to support organizations in creating compelling, inspiring, and actionable strategic plans:
Defining a formal process through recruitment and creation of a Strategic Planning Committee;
Historical grounding to gain a full understanding of an organization's past planning efforts, programmatic activities, and progress against previous strategic plans;
Defining key research questions to anchor the strategic planning process;
Conduct an organizational SWOT analysis through surveys, focus groups, and / or individual stakeholder interviews to identify (internal) strengths and weaknesses and (external) opportunities and threats; and
Identify key priorities and goals, anchored in an audacious ten year organizational aspiration, that form the center of the new strategic plan. Also included in the process is a review and update of the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure full alignment with the new strategic plan.
